Congress and Tweeting
The Hill had a nice article examining who is behind the tweets from Members of Congress. They found
(not shocking) that most MCs do not write their own tweets, just like
most do not write their own constituent mail, instead shifting it off to
staff and interns. But the MCs are missing an opportunity looking at
Twitter like constituent mail--the connection it makes with
constituents. As one MC noted: "...people notice and appreciate that he
writes his own because 'people really hunger for authenticity on the
part of the elected officials."
